Undead Farmstead 2

This game is in active development. The final beta release is available here for free as a demo. The first full game release should be along in the next few months.

You've survived the first year of the zombie apocalypse. Now, wandering lost and hungry for days, you stumble across an abandoned, isolated farmstead. Could this be the safe place you've been looking for to make your new home?

Features

The final beta gameplay is relatively complete but feedback is still very welcome at this stage. Things to try right now:

• Pick items up from the floor and from in chests
• Select items from your inventory to use - bottom toolbar
• Craft items using inventory at crafting tables inside buildings
• Defend yourself against zombies with weapons
• Chop down trees and clear obstacles
• Build fences to keep the zombies at bay
• Plant, water, grow, and harvest crops - try to keep zombies away so they don't damage your precious plants!
• Pick fruit from trees once it's ripe
• Eat food to restore health and energy
• Sleep until the next day to restore health and energy
• Try to stay quiet to avoid making noise that attracts zombies!
• Save and load your progress - please note that saved games from the beta will not work in the full game

Controls

W / A / S / D / Left-click — Move
Space / Right-click — Use, take, open, close...
Left-click (toolbar) — Select inventory
Tab & Shift+Tab / Mouse wheel — Cycle inventory
Esc — Open menu

Install

The Itch App is a convenient way to download and update the game. However, you can also download and run the game directly as follows.

On Windows, find the undead-farmstead-2-windows-alpha.zip file in your Downloads folder, right-click, select Extract All, then double-click on the undead_farmstead_2.exe file. If you see a security warning, click Run. You can also unselect the Always ask before opening this file option here if you want to skip the security warning in future.

On Mac, find the undead-farmstead-2-mac-alpha.zip file in your Downloads folder, right-click (Control-click) and select Open. You should see the file undead_farmstead_2 now in your Downloads folder. Right-click this and select Open. In the security confirmation dialog click Open. After this first time confirmation you can just double-click undead_farmstead_2 to start the game.
